Fruity Pebble Pancakes: stack of pancakes, cereal milk anglaise

One of my favorite brunches in Boston is Lincoln in South Boston! They do such a great job no matter what time of day--brunch or dinner--and they have a HUGE menu of things to choose from, ranging from burgers to oysters to dumplings to wings. You really can’t go wrong no matter what you’re in the mood for!

Here’s what we got for brunch:

Blueberry Loaf - Brought to our table. Let me tell you: it’s seriously good. Mild in flavor and served with whipped butter.

Fruity Pebble Pancakes - A stack of fluffy, moist pancakes, covered in cereal milk anglaise and Fruity Pebbles. Holy nostalgia, Batman! Very well-balanced flavor. Slightly sweet, but not overwhelmingly so. Just the right amount of fruitiness.

Avocado Toast - PERFECTLY ripe, creamy avocado, drizzled with a flavorful olive oil that absorbs into the bread and explodes in your mouth. Perfectly seasoned with just the slightest heat from crushed red pepper. The bread has a crusty exterior and fluffy interior. I also loved the addition of the sprouts. Great touch!

Loaded Hash Browns - Ideal choice for even the pickiest of eaters. Crunchy shredded potatoes covered in cheese, bacon, scallion, and sour cream. Again, very well balanced, with nothing overwhelming.

Bagel Sandwich - Great flavor! The apple-sage breakfast sausage is a slice of heaven. SO delicious. The jalapeño cream cheese adds a nice subtle heat, as well. Pro-tip: eat this immediately; don’t let it sit, because the bagel will firm up. This isn’t a great candidate to take home for leftovers.

Spicy Wings - I order these EVERY TIME I go to Lincoln. They are crispy, tender, and have a nice heat. They definitely have a kick, but it’s closer to a medium heat. And unlike some spicy wings, the heat adds flavor; these aren’t just spicy to be spicy.

Breakfast Pizza - Real talk: the pizza here is fine, but Lincoln wouldn’t be my first destination specifically for pizza. With that said I LOVE their breakfast pizza. Covered in caramelized onions, bacon, hashbrowns, poached eggs, and several types of cheese. This thing is completely delicious and also packs a little heat in the finish. Breakfast of champions.

French Toast - SO FLUFFY. The cinnamon brioche has a nice little crust, and each slice is covered in a vanilla pastry cream and berries. It’s sweet, but again not sickly sweet. Comes with a pecan maple syrup and delicious strips of bacon. This is the kind of French toast other French toast dreams of becoming.

Really no downsides to this place!

Granted, you have to be in the mood for this type of serious food, but Lincoln’s variety and quality is consistently a 9.5/10 for me. I’ve never eaten a bad meal here, and I don’t say that lightly. Whether brunch or dinner, whatever you’re hungry for, you should really give Lincoln a try!
