Souper Cubes

My latest cooking gadget obsession is a silicone tray that allows you to freeze liquids in 1/2 cup, 1 cup, or 2 cup portions. They are called Souper Cubes. The concept is nothing revolutionary, but they make life SO convenient:

1) They allow me to cook sauces and soups in bulk, and freeze. The frozen food easily pops out of the tray, which I then vacuum seal to prevent freezer burn.

2) Because everything has already been portioned out, it makes using the food you made very easy. What this means is that I actually end up using it. I don’t have to wait to have company before taking red sauce out of the freezer - I also don’t have to eat it all week to prevent it from going bad. The portions are key!

3) The brick shape allows me to stack the pre-portioned bricks close together, saving me a TON on room in my freezer. No more wasted space with bulky Tupperware.

Depending on the retailer you buy them from, the silicone will be a different color - red, blue, or teal seem to be the options. With that said, they are exactly the same. I got mine on Amazon and cannot recommend them enough! If you want to score yourself a couple, check them out below:
