Inis: The Energy of the Sea

I’m a big scent guy. What can I say? I like it when things smell good. In my apartment, I like lighter, clean, crisp, citrusy scents. Sometimes I want something even a little sweet (but not vanilla).

Candles are everywhere

At any given time, I have at least 10 candles in my apartment. If you catch me around Black Friday/Cyber Monday, I probably have closer to 50 (!) since I stock up when they are on sale. Why? You may ask. It’s threefold:

1.     I burn candles a LOT—hence the need to stock up.

2.     I like different scents in different rooms.

3.     I burn different scents depending on the time of day.

Scents-by-room

The living room gets Volcano by Capri Blue or Goji Tarocco Orange by Voluspa.

My bedroom gets Coconut Milk Mango by Illume or Indica Lavender by Illume (which was just discontinued, but it can still be found at a few online stores…I need to find a replacement for this scent STAT).

My kitchen gets Pineapple Cilantro by Illume.

Bathrooms vary, but usually, I choose one of the tin candles from Trader Joe’s (they’re only $4!).

Safety first

When I walk into my apartment, I want to be greeted with an inviting smell. I want my guests to say “Wow, it smells amazing in here!” The downside of candles? You have to be home to safely burn them. Since I can’t use a candle to do this, I use a reed oil diffuser instead.

My entryway scent

To ensure my apartment smells great (even when I’m not home), I use an Inis: The Energy of the Sea Room Diffuser in my entryway. While it doesn’t smell like the ocean, it smells like waking up in a luxury hotel with sweeping views of the ocean, windows open, nestled in Egyptian cotton sheets. It has top notes of lemon and brine that fade into soft notes of lily of the valley and sandalwood.

Clean and crisp

I’m very picky when it comes to floral scents. I find them overpowering and reminiscent of a 90-year old lady. Not this one. It’s clean, crisp, and smells almost like linens fresh out of the laundry. I also put one on one of the shelves of my closet.

This scent accomplishes exactly what I want it to. Every person who walks in asks me what the scent is and then takes a photo of the diffuser to buy for their own home. #Winning.

Now do yourself a favor and try this scent for yourself!
